How to update the site
  1. Change an animal's status
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Animals → the animal → Status. Pending: set "pending since". Adopted: set "adopted on" — the animal stays on the Adopt page for fourteen days, then leaves by itself and counts toward the year. Update.
  2. Add an animal
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Animals → Add New: name, species, sex, age in months, weight, size, children / cats / dogs, needs, status, intake date, fee, photo, the entry. The photo's Alternative Text is set in the Media Library.
  3. Post a foster need
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Foster board → Add New: the animal or litter, why, how long, what we supply for this one, posted on. Tick Filled when a home takes it; it stays on the board as filled for the week. Home and Foster read it.
  4. Add an adoption day
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Events → Add New: date, time, place, kind, one paragraph. Then Volunteer shifts → Add New for each task with places needed. Past events leave the pages by themselves.
  5. Fill a shift
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Volunteer shifts → the shift → places filled → Update. The Volunteer page and the home page follow it; a full shift stays listed.
  6. Report a number
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Numbers → Add New: the number as shown, and the sentence that says how it was counted. No method, no number.
  7. Publish a new Form 990
    Media → Add New and upload the PDF. Then Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Financial documents → Add New, choose the file, the fiscal year and the kind, and Publish. The three newest 990s are listed by themselves.
  8. Send year-end giving statements
    Copper Ridge Animal Rescue → Year-end statements → look at donors marked Fix or Check, add checks and stock under "Gifts entered by hand", preview a statement, then Send. In this demonstration nothing is sent.
